PrepHit AI ("PrepHit", "we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to keeping your career documents and personal credentials safe. This Privacy Policy outlines how your data is handled across:
- The PrepHit Android Mobile App (distributed via Google Play)
- The PrepHit Web Application (accessible at prephit.com and official web domains)
- Cloud Storage & AI Engines supporting both platforms
By accessing or using PrepHit AI, you consent to the data collection and usage practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect information necessary to provide our career preparation services:
A. Personal & Professional Details You Provide:
Full name, email address, phone number, location, portfolio links, employment history, education, skill keywords, projects, and certifications entered into our builder or uploaded for ATS scanning.
B. Account Authentication Data:
When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive your Google display name, email address, profile picture URL, and unique Firebase User ID (UID) to authenticate your session across devices. We never receive or store your Google password.
C. Mock Interview & Audio Input:
When using voice mock interviews, your spoken response is converted to text via speech recognition APIs solely to evaluate your answer and provide feedback. We do not store raw audio recordings for advertising.
D. Placement Drills & Usage Metrics:
Daily streak counters, completed tech quiz scores, mistake notebook entries, and device analytics (such as device model, OS version, and crash logs) to optimize app stability.
3. How We Use Your Information & AI Processing
Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:
- Generating & Formatting Resumes: Compiling your career history into professional PDF formats.
- ATS Compatibility Analysis: Comparing your resume text with job requirements to compute match scores and detect missing keywords.
- AI Suggestions via Google Gemini AI: When you request AI bullet rewriting, professional summaries, or interview prep, the required text snippet is securely processed by Google AI API endpoints. Google's API terms govern this transmission, and the data is not used to train public foundation models without permission.
- Cross-Platform Synchronization: Backing up your resumes in Google Firebase Firestore so you can seamlessly edit on your phone and print from your laptop.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We utilize trusted cloud infrastructure to run PrepHit AI:
- Google Firebase: Used for secure cloud authentication, Firestore database sync, and storage.
- Google Gemini AI APIs: Used for processing generative AI prompts, ATS scoring, and interview simulations.
- Vercel Inc.: Hosts our serverless web infrastructure and front-end delivery network.
These third-party providers are bound by strict security and confidentiality obligations and only process your data as instructed by PrepHit AI.
5. Data Storage & Security Measures
We protect your sensitive career data with industry-leading safeguards:
- Encryption in Transit: All communications between your device and our servers use HTTPS with TLS 1.3 encryption.
- Encryption at Rest: Cloud databases hosted on Firebase Firestore are encrypted at rest with AES-256 standard encryption.
- Local Device Storage: On Android, your offline resumes are kept in private sandboxed application storage (Hive box), inaccessible to other apps.
6. Data Retention & Account Deletion (Your Rights)
You maintain complete authority over your information under international data protection regulations (including GDPR and CCPA):
- Right to Access: You can view all saved resumes and profile records in your dashboard at any time.
- Right to Export: You can download your resumes as standard PDF documents at will.
- Right to Delete (Account & Data Deletion): You can delete any individual resume from your dashboard or app. You may also request a complete wipe of your user account, cloud backups, and streak records by going to Settings > Delete Account in the mobile app, or by emailing our data protection officer directly. Upon receiving your deletion request, your data is permanently expunged within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
PrepHit AI is intended for university students, job seekers, and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately, and we will take swift steps to remove that information from our databases.
